I recently discovered that listening to dubstep may, depending on the piece you listen to, have effects similar to those of meditation. I listened to a dubstep piece when I became aware that the frustration, doubtfulness, fear and anxiety that had been haunting me during the day decreased in intensity. I paid attention to how my mind and body behaved while I was listening to dubstep and realized that dubstep as if took control over my thoughts and emotions and made me feel relaxed. By giving dubstep my undivided attention, I disidentified from my mind and entered a state of mindlessness which felt surprisingly good.
